is Julia Kate! She made her arrival a little bit early. Mom had to go in for an emergency C-section, and little Julia arrived February 16, 2010 at 5:08 a.m. She was born at 8 lbs., 2 oz and 21 inches long.  She is absolutely adorable!  She is different from big brother Jack and big sister Emma in that she has a much narrower face and body than they did when they were born, but we all know that doesn’t dictate what she’ll turn out like!  Jack and Emma have definitely changed since they were born!  Julia has long fingers and toes… I wonder if she’ll be a pianist!

Uncle Bill being silly & Julia

Isn’t Bill a character? 🙂  He’s such a goofball.

Now, of course, while we were visiting the family, we couldn’t forget the “big kids” of the bunch!  We brought Julia Kate a cute little pink outfit with ballet slippers on it.   The big kids got holographic pinwheels.  Jack got one with the Cars characters on it, and Emma got one with Tinkerbell and Friends.   We also brought out some gifts that Dad got for his retirement.  Yes, it got pushed to the side since Julia’s birth happend two weeks prior, but he’s officially retired as of February 28, 2010!  (Go Dad!)  He got the abacus to remind him that he was an accountant, the bucket and sunglasses to take to the beach, and the lei to complete the beach outfit.  The kids loved playing with them.

Eric and the big sunglasses

Yes, Eric is a big kid.  So is Bill… He had them on, too, but I didn’t catch a picture of Bill.  He’s probably thanking his lucky stars!

There's always time for a good book!

We got some great time in with the big kids… Jack got a book from Aunt Mary Jo and Uncle Mike.  It’s way too advanced for him to read or anything, but it has a ton of facts about various times in civilization ranging from prehistoric times to Ancient Egypt, to the Old West.  It’s got things you can look for and find, as well as little tidbits about the different cultures and lifestyles.  Jack has already picked up quite a few facts!
