Well, it’s here — 2012!  I can hardly believe that 2011 is already done and gone… and to start off the new year, we have a new challenge up at Through the Craft Room Door, along with a very generous $50 gift certificate from Rusty at Oozak this time around.  What a fantastic prize for those of you itching to get the new release of Copic markers that are due out in February!

I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Colleen to the Design Team — welcome, Colleen!  It’ll be great getting to know you better and enjoy all the art that you will create.

For this card, I started with an adorable puppy digital stamp from Pattie’s Creations.  This particular image was donated for the CDAC Progressive Freebie challenge, and I am also using it for TTCRD’s monochromatic challenge.  I couldn’t get over the adorable puppy, so I had to find colors that would work with it.  For this card, I colored it with the following Copic markers:  0, 100, E23, E33, E29, E42, E43, E44, E49, and E79.  I also used a Sharpie white poster paint pen to add the little white dots in the dog’s eyes.  The ribbon, eyes, and nose have a coat of Glossy Accents over them as well.  I used Wausau and Recollections cardstock to mat the image, and a Sizzix embossing folder for the background.  This card will be going to my cousin’s girls who are getting a new puppy for the new year!  They are both so excited – her name is going to be Taylor.

Hope to see lots of entries this time around!  And don’t forget about our monthly sponsor, Aletha from Ippity!  She will be giving one of January’s entrants an $18 gift certificate to her store.

This card is being entered into the following challenges:
