Okay, so this is out-of-the-box for me… I made some onesie cupcakes for a baby shower.

Aren’t they cute?  I love how they turned out.  I got the idea from someone’s blog (please leave a comment if you know where!)… I’ve done a google search, and all I can come up with are the version where you use receiving blankets, onesies, and coffee filters — cute, but not what I did with mine or where I got the idea!

These are super easy to make, too!  Using my wonderful Cameo, I used a file from the Silhouette store to make the cupcake holders.  Then, using SCAL 3 and a cupcake wrapper svg file from Heather M,  I used the Cameo to cut out the wrappers, sized correctly for regular baking cups.  Because the parents-to-be do not want to find out if their new arrival will be a boy or a girl, I used regular white onesies.  I laid them front down, folded back the sleeves so they wouldn’t show and folded up the butt end so the snaps wouldn’t show.  Then, I folded the onesie in half lengthwise.  From the bottom of the onesie, I started rolling it up and put it into the baking cup.  I popped that into the cupcake wrapper, and then “decorated” the cupcake with a Prima flower and a Making Memories brad.
