Well, it’s time for another TTCRD challenge! This time, the challenge is to create a project with a Christmas theme. I know with temperatures in the upper 90’s and a heat index well into 100+, I’m wishing for some cooler weather…. although not for snow yet! Through the Craftroom Door is a great crafting publication that is online for your convenience. You can access all the great ideas digitally, so it can be at your fingertips whenever you want to browse for new ideas. If you haven’t heard of it, check it out here. This challenge is being sponsored by Patricia from Paper Temptress. If you haven’t heard, she offers luscious paper at fantastic prices, and the winner of this challenge is going to get a $25 gift certificate to Patricia’s store!
- No more than 3 projects allowed for each challenge per person
- We will use the Inlinkz system for entries as well as the gallery uploads
- Winners will be chosen by random.org.
For this card, I started with an embossed card base from DCWV. Then, I used Recollections red cardstock and my Cuttlebug to emboss some Christmas ornaments. I chose to use two columns of the ornaments, and I used the debossed side for this particular card. The ornaments, coal chunks and writing are done with Spica pens. The sentiment is from Create with TLC; at one time, it was offered as a free sentiment but now I believe it may be available in Paulette’s store. The sentiment is matted on cardstock from my stash. The adorable coal bin is a digital image offered by Dustin Pike. It is colored with Tim Holtz’s Distress Markers. I used a combination of direct-to-paper as well as water to get the effect on the coal and the coal bin. The tag is punched using a Fiskars tag punch, and the writing on the tag is also done with a Spica pen. The tag is tied with crochet thread that I dyed using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
This card will be entered into the following challenges:
- Through the Craftroom Door – Christmas in July
- Doodle Dragon Studios – All Tied Up
- 52 Christmas Card Throwdown – Anything Goes
