Just a Quick Post… October 8, 2012

Here are two of the cards I made this past weekend. Saturday, October 6 was World Cardmaking Day, and while I did get to create a couple cards, it’s taken me some extra time to get them posted!

Here is the first card I made.  This is the start of Birthday Season in the family, and they run pretty steadily from October through March… so this is the first of the birthday cards I’ve made.  The bear is a digital image from Beccy’s Place.  Isn’t the bear adorable?  The background pink cardstock is from Archivers and is embossed using a Cuttlebug folder.  The sentiment is from the Older  & Wiser set (I believe it’s Stampin’ Up), and the die cuts it is on are from Spellbinders dies.

This is also a digital from Beccy’s Place – I have had it for a while, but this is the first time I’ve used it.  Isn’t it great?  The background paper is from the All Seasons II paper pack by The Paper Studio.  The magical tag has some Black Soot Distress ink on the edges.  I really liked how it brings the focus into the word “magical.”  The die cut tag itself is from my stash.  The digital image is mounted on purple Recollections cardstock and then on Lime Mica cardstock from The Paper Temptress.  The cardstock is absolutely gorgeous in person… sorry that the photo didn’t pick more of the fine shimmer up!

If you’re into making cards, hopefully you had some time to create something fun this past weekend, too!

I love the witch card. I wanted to use this image on a card of my own but haven’t had a chance to design anything yet. You’ve done a wonderful job on this and your coloring is spectacular. You should enter this into the digi haven October challenge as well. Our theme is to use free digi images and link back to the artists site. You’ve done a gorgeous job with both of these images.. ♥ Denise @ Digi Haven ♥

These are so stinkin cute! The images are great and so different! Love your papers and that embossing folder is beautiful! They are both so much fun!

Hugs,

Susan

Great cards Danielle, I love the papers you’ve matched the images with, and the embossing behind the little bear is wonderful. Great job!
Cheers,
Beccy
