Happy Friday, everyone!  For this week’s release at McMahon Five Designs, I am sharing a project using an image called Penguin Cocoa, an Imagine That! Digis by Kris image.

Penguin Cocoa

Using this set, which includes the adorable image in color and black and white outline, as well as the sentiments, I created a card perfect for sending those cold-weather wishes.

To create this card, I started with some winter paper from The Paper Studios’ All Seasons II paper pack.  I used Spellbinders large and large scalloped oval dies for the background and cut those out of Basis blue cardstock and white cardstock.  The white cardstock is embossed using a snowflake Cuttlebug folder.  The adorable penguin has been printed out on Cryogen cardstock and then colored with Prismacolor colored pencils and blended out using Gamsol.

For the inside of the card, I kept it pretty simple.  I used the same Cryogen cardstock to get the subtle sparkler for the words, and I also used the Basis blue cardstock for the frame.  The frame is cut using a die from the Spellbinders Frameabilities set called Snowflake Frame.  I thought it provided a perfect accent to the card.

Hope you enjoyed my project this week, and if you have a chance you can stop by the McMahon Five blog to see the rest of the Design Teams’ projects here.
