Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year.  All cards need to be sent in by August 1st, so I’m helping to get the word out!

Thank you for visiting, and I hope that you’re enjoying the blog hop!  What bittersweet news to hear that Operation Write Home will be closing its doors.  I wanted to take part in this final blog hop to help it to finish strong.

Here is my card for the blog hop.  For this card, the base and main layers are made from Columns 80# cardstock in Solar White and Red Pepper.  The white cardstock is stamped with Unity‘s Secret Garden stamp in Versamark Ink and then embossed with navy embossing powder.  I colored some white crochet thread with a red alcohol marker and wrapped it around the card.

You may return to the blog hop list by clicking on the Operation Write Home Finishing Strong banner at the top of this post.

Great idea to dye your twine with alcohol markers. I have done that with ink, but it smears easily. Thanks for the idea!
