Just a quick card that I really enjoyed creating…

20150628_221104

I was playing around with the Elizabeth Craft Designs peel off stickers and Richeson watercolor paper, and I colored them in as robins using Prismacolor colored pencils, blended with Gamsol.  Then, I watercolored the background with my Spectrum Aqua markers.  The background top and bottom edges are foiled using my Minc and some teal colored foil.  I wasn’t sure I like the harsh edge of the watercolor paper against the foil, so I added a strip of birds on a wire washi tape.

This will be entered in the following challenges:

Loving the Gelli Plate May 16, 2015

For this card, I used my Gelli Plate to transfer designs onto packing tape in order to create a background for my card.  The background is created using acrylic paints, stamps, and household implements such as bottle caps and Q-tips.  After the print is lifted, I used gold mica powder to fill in the “blank” spaces and get rid of the sticky part of the tape.  Then, I wrapped the pieces around the Neenah Solar White cardstock and adhered them well with Red Line tape.  Because the tape is wrapped around the card base, I suggest using a sturdy base, otherwise it will be more difficult to get the beautiful tape to lie flat.

I used some Elizabeth Craft Designs stickers on Cryogen cardstock and colored them in with Spectrum Noir markers and Copics.  The edges are inked with Weathered Wood Distress Ink, and the birds have Tulip heat set gems on them.

Here is a quick card for those last-minute needs.

For this card, I started out with Red Pepper Linen cardstock.  On top of that,I layered some  Treasures Grass cardstock, which is embossed using the Sizzix Four Petal Flower embossing folder.  Layered on top of the green cardstock are four pieces of the 5 Part Pine set of Elizabeth Craft Designs dies.  They are cut using cardstock from my stash in a similar texture as the Linen cardstock.  I think it is by DCWV.  I attached them using acid free foam dimensional tape.

Hope you are enjoying the first full weekend of September!

Rose Card PT 09012014 resized

For this card, I started out with Ruby Mica/Metallic as the base and embossed this gorgeous paper using Anna Griffin’s Garden Roses embossing folder to mirror the image on the card.  The image is a silver Elizabeth Craft Designs Peel-Off Sticker.  I colored it on watercolor paper using Distress markers and blending them with a water brush.  For the roses I used Barn Door, Worn Lipstick, and Spun Sugar; for the leaves I used Chipped Sapphire, Peeled Paint, and Shabby Shutters; for the background I used Faded Jeans, Broken China, and Tumbled Glass.  The twine is from my stash.

I’m back with another Christmas card for the Digistamps4Joy progressive challenge.

Here is a straight-on view of the card I created.  It’s difficult to see the image, but it’s one of the wise men and a camel.

A strange angle, but in this photo you can actually see the image much better.

I started out with some red cardstock from my stash and embossed it using Anna Griffin’s Juliet Lace embossing folder.  The image itself is printed onto Hammermill cardstock and then glittered over using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  Then, I colored the image using a combination of Marvy, Zig, and Sharpie markers.  The “star” in the corner and the chevrons are leftover bits from the Tim Holtz Frameworks dies.  The star is glittered with Silk Microfine Glitter in Desert Gold, and the chevron pieces are colored using Hematite Inka Gold.  I had tried it in Lava Red first, but it blended in too much with the background.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far!

The image is the freebie for the on-going Progressive Challenge by From the Heart Stamps, and it is printed on Cryogen cardstock, then covered with Sookwang double-sided tape (I used two pieces of the 2″ tape), and then covered with Elizabeth Craft Designs Silk Microfine Glitter and colored with Zig markers.  Then, the image is layered onto text weight cardstock in Cryogen White, Jupiter Red, and Lapis Lazuli.  These are all part of the Patriotic Variety Package by Paper Temptress.

For today’s McMahon 5 Designs project, I’m sharing part of an adorable new set of digital images from Imagine That! digis by Kris called Parfait Delights.  These images just remind me of hot summer weather that’s on its way.

Parfait Delights M5D Danielle 051514

For this card, I used the Lemon Granola Parfait and its matching sentiment.  They are printed out onto Cryogen cardstock, and then I used double-sided adhesive (2″ Sookwang tape) to cover the image.  I covered the entire image with Elizabeth Craft Designs Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and burnished it with my finger.  In case you are not familiar with the Silk Glitter, you have to burnish it to really bring out the shine.  Next, I colored the image using a combination of Zig and Marvy Uchida brush tip markers, and I blended the glass portion and the straw with my Prismacolor colorless blender.  The die cuts are Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large, Scalloped Circles Large, and Ribbon Tag Trio Two.  I used the Tim Holtz ink blending tool to add some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the tag sentiment before running some lime green scalloped grosgrain ribbon through it.  The brown cardstock is from the Best Occasions Scrap Pack, and the tropical background paper is from The Paper Studio’s All Seasons II paper pack.

Please feel free to check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations here if you have a chance!

Here is a bright photo of the card I created – it caught a lot of the glitter shine!

IMAG0892

This is the same card at a different angle, where it does not catch the Stickles in the light.

For this card, I started out with Neenah Solar White cardstock as the base.  I covered the entire card base with Scor Pal double-sided tape.  Then, I used the Tim Holtz Frameworks die to cut out the decorative piece out of chipboard that was also covered on both sides with Scor Pal or Sookwang tape.  I removed two of the circles since it was too long for the card.  Leaving the decoration covered, I sprinkled Elizabeth Craft Designs Desert Gold Silk Microfine Glitter all over the base of the card.  Then, I burnished it with my finger to really make it shine.  After doing the card base, I removed the paper from the Frameworks cut out and covered it with Deep Turquoise and burnished that as well.  The digital image is printed out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored with watercolor pencils, and then to bling up the center of the flower, I used some Diamond Stickles on it.
