Here is my card for the Imagine That digis by Kris progressive challenge.

Well, we’re more than halfway through the year, and (gulp!) on our way to the Christmas countdown… This adorable set of images and sentiments included one for a sweet Christmas, and I had a lot of fun coloring it.  I printed the image out on Bazzill cardstock and colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I used my Perfect Layers ruler to cut the border in black cardstock, and mounted that on the card base, which is from a Christmas Recollections paper pack.  It’s a little difficult to see since most of it is covered up, but it is some really nice paper with Christmas ornaments on it.

Well, with the amount of rain we’ve been getting it has been more like springtime…. but I’m not going to argue with that!  I sort of like not having to water the lawn.  On the other hand, the weeds have been growing like… weeds!  They have been crazy this year!

Anyhow, here is my card for the Imagine That digis by Kris progressive challenge.

What a great image – and a perfect one to kick off the summer weather that (I’m sure) is on the way.  For this card, I printed the image out on Canson watercolor paper and colored it using my Spectrum Aqua markers.  I did notice (after I’d taken the photo) that the popsicle in the middle of the cart is missing its stick, but I did draw one in before sending the card out.  The image is matted on and accented using some paper from my stash.  I added some yellow rhinestones to the corners of the card, too, for just a little bit of sparkle.

I am loving my Anna Griffin Minc foiling machine.  Here is another card I made using the Watering Can Tulips digital image for Imagine That digis by Kris progressive challenge.

For this card, I printed the image out on Bazzill cardstock and colored it using Portfolio watercolor pencils blended with a Dove Blender Pen.  The sentiment is due cut using dies from the Just Rite Happy Everything Tag Making Kit.  The sentiment is foiled using the printed sentiment and some gold foil, and the border is using mint foil and one of the toner sheet decorative borders that were included with the purchase of the Minc machine.  I matted the image on some bright orange construction paper and inked the edges with Wild Honey Distress Ink.

I really like this latest set that’s part of the Imagine That! digis by Kris progressive challenge.  It was difficult to choose what to use on my project, but this is what I finally came up with from the My Sailmate collection.

For this card, I used some cardstock from my stash for the background.  The image is printed onto 80# Neenah Solar White cardstock.  I colored it in using some new markers, the Spectrum Noir markers.  The three brads are from a Recollections Halloween collection.  I thought the card needed something, and these glittery black brads fit the bill.

As some may know, I love seeing the peacocks and peahens at the zoo.  They are amazing!

This card contains an image and sentiment from the Pretty Peacocks set by Imagine That! digis by Kris, and it’s this month’s freebie for the progressive challenge.

The entire set is fantastic, and this card was so much fun to make!  I printed the image on Cryogen cardstock and then used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors to color the image. After cutting out the image, I mounted it onto the peacock feather paper from a Recollections animal paper pack and added the sentiment, also printed on Cryogen.  After snapping the photo, I decided to add a thin line of Cool Mint Stickles around the sentiment, and I think it pulls the elements together – sorry that detail isn’t included!

Here is a cute card I created that came together pretty quickly.

The card’s image is a digital one called Mailbox Kitties from Imagine That! digis by Kris, and I created it for the progressive challenge.  I just had to use this adorable image to make another Valentine’s Day card – especially since this one will be travelling across the miles to its recipient.  The image is printed out on Cryogen cardstock and matted on black cardstock from my stash that I embossed using a Sizzix embossing folder.  I colored it using a combination of Portfolio and Prismacolor watercolor pencils.

Hope everyone has gotten a good start to the New Year and has possibly even taken on some New Year’s Resolutions that they are intending to keep throughout 2015.  My project for today is a card where a football player needs to go for that goal line.

For this card, I printed out the digital image (Football Humphrey) on Cryogen cardstock and colored him in with Crayola colored pencils blended with Gamsol.  The sentiment, “Super Star” is stamped onto Cryogen cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and backed with kraft brown bag cardstock.  The football goalpost and the green paper is paper cut from my stash.  The card base is also Cryogen cardstock, and I cut it using the Sizzix Framelits Basic Step Ups die set.

Here is a more top-down view so you can see the actual stamp used for this card.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Temperatures here are creeping back up into the normal range, but for a couple days this week, we were enjoying weather in the 70’s! It was a great time to get out and do some much-needed yard work without fear of heatstroke.

For this project, I made a card for a young boy named Danny. He just turned six this year and has inoperable brain tumor. His request was for lots of birthday cards, and it looks like he has received a mountain of them!

For this card, I used an adorable image from the Poolside Penguins digital image set (Imagine That! digis by Kris).  This particular image is called Penguin with Beach Ball, and I loved the sentiment because it just seemed to fit this cutie pie penguin.  The word “Happy” is die cut using a Die-Versions Express Edges die.  The image is printed onto Cryogen cardstock and colored using Prismacolor colored pencils and Gamsol.  Then, it is matted onto blue and red cardstock from my stash.

For today’s McMahon 5 Designs project, I’m sharing part of an adorable new set of digital images from Imagine That! digis by Kris called Parfait Delights.  These images just remind me of hot summer weather that’s on its way.

Parfait Delights M5D Danielle 051514

For this card, I used the Lemon Granola Parfait and its matching sentiment.  They are printed out onto Cryogen cardstock, and then I used double-sided adhesive (2″ Sookwang tape) to cover the image.  I covered the entire image with Elizabeth Craft Designs Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and burnished it with my finger.  In case you are not familiar with the Silk Glitter, you have to burnish it to really bring out the shine.  Next, I colored the image using a combination of Zig and Marvy Uchida brush tip markers, and I blended the glass portion and the straw with my Prismacolor colorless blender.  The die cuts are Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large, Scalloped Circles Large, and Ribbon Tag Trio Two.  I used the Tim Holtz ink blending tool to add some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to the tag sentiment before running some lime green scalloped grosgrain ribbon through it.  The brown cardstock is from the Best Occasions Scrap Pack, and the tropical background paper is from The Paper Studio’s All Seasons II paper pack.

Can’t Believe It’s May! May 2, 2014

Happy May, everyone!  I can’t believe May is already here.  And I’m sure not going to complain about the rain!  Hopefully it brings us beautiful flowers.

For today’s release, I am sharing “Girl with Mom Banner,” another adorable Imagine That! digis by Kris image.  You can find it here in the McMahon 5 Designs store.

IMAG0890

For this card, I started with the image printed out on Cryogen cardstock.  Then, I used watercolor pencils, both Portfolio and Prismacolor, to color the image in.  I have been having a lot of fun playing with watercolor pencils lately.  They are easy to use and there is no fuss or muss to deal with either.  I have been switching between using the Tim Holtz water brush and a regular old paintbrush.  Most of the time, I’ve been finding that I prefer to use a regular brush because I have more control over the amount of water I’m using, as opposed to the water brush.  But that fine detail tip is great, too… So I’m thinking it will be great when it’s empty and I can use it like a normal paintbrush!  I matted the image using the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles dies, and then adhered that to a royal blue card base embossed using Anna Griffin’s Olivia Lace embossing folder.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project, and please feel free to check out the rest of the DT’s projects here.
