Here is my take on a Bokeh card.

20150409_230521

For this card, I started out with some Neenah Solar White 110# and used watercolors on it for the background.  It handled the water pretty well, although I did tape the cardstock down to help prevent buckling.  Then, after the cardstock dried, I used white pigment ink and some solid circle stamps from the Just Rite Bokeh Time stamp set.  The sentiment is from the same set, but onto some scrap card stock.  Since pigment ink dries slowly, I also decided to brush some Perfect Pearls  over the top of it, and where the ink was still wet, it grabbed hold.

…at least until next year, I hope!

For Flashback Friday at McMahon Five Designs, I’m sharing a card I made using some wonderfully masculine images by Daydream Designs called Gone Fishing.  Although I didn’t choose to use the coordinating sentiments on this card, there is a set that can be found here.  They go very well with the various images and can be used for many occasions.

Gone Fishin Danielle 031414 M5DFor this card, I started with the various images, which I combined using Word.  I had a lot of fun overlapping the images.  Then, I printed them out onto Cryogen cardstock and colored using a combination of Crayola and Prismacolor colored pencils.  I used the ink blending tool and Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges of the image and the sentiment (stamped with the same ink and Just Rite stamps onto Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardstock).  I matted both portions of the card onto a plaid cardstock from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed my card and have a wonderful weekend.  If you have time, please check out the other creations on the M5D blog.

Today, I have a farm card to share with you.  It’s part of an adorable set by Imagine That! Digis by Kris, and it includes a variety of farm-related images and sentiments.  I fell in love with the little piggies, so they are the animals I incorporated into my design for today.

PROMO Farm Friends - M5D

The sentiment I chose to use, “Thought you could use a pig me up!” just made me smile… and the adorable little pigs were too cute to pass up.

The background paper is from my stash, and I darkened the edges using blending foam and Shabby Shutters Distress Ink.  The barn, pigs, and sentiment are printed out on  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, and I used the print & cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo to cut them out.  This time, instead of using the offset option, I had it cut directly on the edge.  The Cameo’s ability to cut fine details like the weather vane absolutely amazes me!  I thought that would never cut cleanly but it did.  I used the following colors of Distress Markers to color the images:  Barn Door, Black Soot, Fired Brick, Pumice Stone, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, and Weathered Wood.  The markers were applied using the fin tipped water brush.  For the sentiment, I cut the tag and the red frame using Just Rite’s Happy Everything Tag Making Kit, and I attached it using a gold Making Memories snap.

Hope that this card brought a smile to your face.  You can check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations on the McMahon 5 Designs blog.

We have had a very cool spring, followed by a blast right into summer with high temperatures and high humidity.  Plants are a little behind, but hopefully they will kick into high gear with the rising temperatures.  This week for McMahon 5 Designs, I am bringing to you a beautiful floral design called Friendship Flowers.  The image and sentiments in this set are perfect for many different occasions.

Here is the card I created using the image from this set.

A card for your special day

A card for your special day

I apologize for the dark photo… we’ve  been getting lots of rain here, so there hasn’t been much natural light.  For this card, I colored the image using Crayola colored pencils and Gamsol as the blending solution.  I also used the Prismacolor colorless blending pencil for the tabletop.  The lace doily has Frosted Lace Stickles on it as well.  I fussy cut around the image and then mounted it on Eclipse black cardstock from my stash, which is the same cardstock used to cut out the tag, a combination of Spellbinders’ Fancy Tags Three and Just Rite’s Happy Everything Tag Making Kit.  The designer paper used for the background is from DCWV’s Black Currant stack.  I rounded the corners with a 1/2″ corner rounder.

This month for TTCRD‘s challenge, we are making Spring-themed tags!  Pizzazz Aplenty is sponsoring this challenge, and Judy is offering a $10 bag of goodies to the winner.  And, as always, don’t forget about the monthly winner who will receive a gift card from Aletha at Ippity.

Isn’t this little guy a cutie?  He is Eggbert Bunny from Bugaboo!  I just couldn’t resist this cute little image.  The tag is embossed purple cardstock from Archivers.  I also used Distress Ink to ink up the edges, and I colored the image with Copic markers.  The small tag says “Easter Blessings” and is from the Just Rite Happy Everything Tag Making Kit.  The beautiful pink ribbon is from My Sentiments Exactly.

This tag will be entered into the following challenges:

Well, the latest challenge is up for Through the Craftroom Door!  This time around, the challenge is to create a clean and simple card with a sentiment.  The prize for this challenge is a $20 gift certificate to SCACD.

For this card, I used an image from Anita Be Stampin’.   I mounted the image on colored cardstock from Archivers, and the card base is Core’dinations cardstock.  The image is colored using the following Copics:  E00, E02, E29, E33, R20, RV0000, RV00, RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, RV69, and YR14.  The sentiment is stamped using a mini sentiment stamp from Just Rite’s Happy Everything Tag Making Kit using Whispers Archival Ink.

Well, this challenge was just that — quite the challenge!  It was way outside the box for me, no pun intended… And this time around, we have Ippity by Rona offering a $15 gift certificate to one lucky winner, so get out your thinking caps and get creative!

This challenge for Through the Craftroom Door was a tough one for me… anything but a card!  So I went with something totally out of my norm, and I created a box for organizing stuff — whatever kind of stuff you’d like that would fit on an index card.  I was thinking I’d use it for organizing stuff like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.  I cut the template for the box using an SVG file from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff, which I purchased at My Grafico.  I created the alphabet embellishments using Spellbinders dies combined with Just Rite monogram stamps.  The front flap of the box and the little bird (silver) are embossed cardstock.  I used silver embossing powder and heat embossed each item 3-4 times, until they got to a thickness and sheen that I liked.  The flourish is another Spellbinders die that I spritzed with Sea Glass Glimmer Mist, and the little bird is from My Favorite Things, Contempo Cage.  I created the rosette using dark blue cardstock (Recollections) and my Martha Stewart scoreboard.  The box itself is cut from American Crafts cardstock, and the lid is embellished with DCWV cardstock from the La Creme stack.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow… December 15, 2011

Okay, or maybe not… I’m a fan of snow on Christmas.  After that, it can go away until next Christmas in my opinion!  Not that it happens that way here in Michigan, but one can always hope, right??

Here is my card for Through the Craft Room Door‘s latest challenge.  The requirements are as follows: must include snowflakes, must use blue and white, must have sparkle/glitter/bling, must be a circle card.  Suzanne Dean is offering one Copic class as the prize for this challenge, so please join in and have a chance to win one of her wonderful classes!

For this card, I used an old CD to trace the circle portion of the card base since I wanted to use a larger circle than I have a die for.  The snowflake paper is from my stash.  Lately, I have fallen in love with some of the Memory Box dies, so when there was a sale running on them over Black Friday, I picked up a few!  I used the following Memory Box dies on this card: Twigs and Berries, Crisp Bows, Classic Ornament, and Snowflake Ornament.  The base ornament is cut from Core’dinations Silver Pearl cardstock, and the snowflakes are cut using some colored cardstock from Archivers.  I cut the branch using Wausau dark brown cardstock, and the bows are cut using air duct tape.  I love that it is so easy to use.  Since it has adhesive on the back, it was like creating my own stickers.  The sentiment and die used for that portion are from the Just Rite Happy Everything Tag Making Kit and Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink.  For some additional sparkle, although it’s subtle, I used Cryogen cardstock for the sentiment and for the beautiful ornament image, created by Sandi Huggett.  For her image, I colored it with the following Copic markers:  B23, G28, R27, R29, and R39.

Isn’t this just the cutest puppy?

I created this card using an image that Just Some Lines donated to the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge.  In order to make it a Christmas card (yes, I’m still working on them!), I added a santa hat to the image using the Sant Hat stamp by Paper Inspirations on some red cardstock from my stash.  Then, I used some white sand from The Dollar Tree to do the fluff.  It didn’t turn out quite as white as I’d hoped, but I think it will still work.  I colored the image with my Bic Mark Its and a Copic Colorless Blender.  The striped cardstock is by American Crafts, and the sentiment is from Just Rite’s Christmas Nested Sentiments set.  I used Iced Spruce Distress Inks around the edges of the image and the sentiment.

Here is my card for Delightful Inspiration’s progressive challenge.  I am also entering this into the Just Rite challenge.

I really like this card.  I colored it while on vacation in Florida earlier this week, and I just put it together.  I really love this fanciful image which you can find at the Designed 2 Delight shop here.  The gingham background paper is by Making Memories.  I used Copics to color the image, but since I was on vacation when I colored it, I did not write down the colors I used.  The sentiment is a Just Rite stamp.  I hope that Spring is on its way soon!  Right now, we still have snow on the ground.
